I don’t write much during the day
most of the time.
I write mostly when
I am half asleep and my mind won’t shut up.
And I am too lazy to stumble over my nightstand
to get a pen and find one of my unfinished college-ruled
notebooks. But I can always dig out my phone from my pocket and get my thoughts down as fast as my fingers allow
me to type.
I update my writing when everyone
is asleep, but I’m asleep too.
But awake enough to make sense.
Which doesn’t make much sense.
But all you really need to know
is that I don’t sleep because
words keep me up. Even when
I don’t know what to write.
I write the best when sleep deprived.
Or under the pressure of “it’s due tomorrow.”
